The Five Eyes Festival is a Brooklyn annual music and arts showcase benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Each year a group of fellow Brooklyn artists and friends come together to present emerging and established talent from around NYC with the goal of raising money to benefit research to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. The 2011 Five Eyes festival will be held at Public Assembly in Brooklyn on July 14th and feature renowned Comedian/Musician Reggie Watts. Hilarious, brilliant, unpredictable – award winning comedian/musician Reggie Watts is a staple of the international performance scene. Reggie’s improvised musical sets are created on-the-spot using only his formidable voice and a looping machine. Recently having performed at NYC and Brooklyn’s Summer Stage as well as two sold out shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg. On screen, Reggie has appeared numerous times on Conan, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, HBO’s The Yes Men Save The World, Comedy Central’s Michael and Michael Have Issues.
Also joining the bill will be Brooklyn via Iran post punk band The Yellow Dogs, Ian Hulquist and Sofia degli Alessandri’s electronic music project Aislyn, and Brooklyn punk band Los Toughfists. Advanced tickets are on sale now for $10 here. Doors will open at 7pm, show will start at 8pm.
